People on social media are sounding off after a mother took to social media to claim that childfree people have all the time in the world.<\/p>\n

Clearly thinking the other grass is greener, Danielle Ekwerekwu (@danni_ek<\/a>) shared her controversial thoughts in a now\u00a0viral video<\/a>: \u201cI don\u2019t think people without kids realize how much free time they actually have. They are practically on vacation 24\/7. And you don\u2019t realize that until you have kids and you have no free time ever.\u201d<\/p>

She said she loves her kids but rarely gets any free time, a sentiment many parents could probably relate to.<\/p>\n

In her video, which has garnered over 600,000 views, Ekwerekwu was self-aware enough to acknowledge she signed up for this when choosing parenthood, but that doesn\u2019t take away from the fact that she might be slightly jealous of her peers who don\u2019t have little humans to take care of and worry about every waking minute.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have friends who don\u2019t have kids and I just get a kick out of hearing them say, \u2018Oh I\u2019m so tired or I\u2019m so busy\u2019\u2026at the end of the day, everyone has problems, everyone has issues, everyone has a to-do list\u2026 but I\u2019m just saying, if you\u2019re watching this and you don\u2019t have kids, embrace the free time because once you do have kids, there will be little to no free time,\u201d this frustrated mom said.<\/p>\n

Well, that was enough to set off thousands of people in the comment section of Ekwerekwu\u2019s video.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is giving \u2018I regret my choice and I\u2019m envious of those who are childfree,'\u201d quipped a commenter.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018I don\u2019t want to be that person\u2019\u2026 proceeds to be that person,\u201d another pointed out.<\/p>

\u201cThis video proves you have free time,\u201d a snarky commenter claimed.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, our free time is different. It\u2019s why a lot of us don\u2019t want kids. But to say we\u2019re \u2018practically on vacation 24\/7\u2019 is a little absurd,\u201d chimed in someone else.<\/p>\n

It might not be a vacation childfree people are on, but it\u2019s definitely a life they\u2019re actively choosing,\u00a0according to a new report<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A team of researchers from\u00a0Michigan State University<\/a>\u00a0discovered that the number of people in the US deliberately choosing not to have children has doubled over the last two decades.<\/p>\n

According to the team\u2019s findings, the percentage of non-parents who don\u2019t want to bring children into this world rose from 14% in 2002 to 29% in 2023.<\/p>\n
