For years, he was a confirmed bachelor with no intention of starting a family. Now, he is opening up more about what changed and how he has felt since then.<\/p>\n<p>\"I wasn\u2019t really looking to become a dad,\" he shared with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/02\/20\/theater\/george-clooney-broadway-good-night-good-luck.html?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us\"><em>The New York Times<\/em><\/a> in a recent interview. \"Then I met Amal, and we fell in love. I have to say that after that, everything fell into place.\"<\/p><div class=\"ad ad-container visible-xs-block\" style=\"height: 330px !important;\">\n    <div class=\"ad-label alt-text alt-pos-above\"><\/div>\n\t<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-mob_prem1_mid-0\" class=\"DFPAdSlot\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ad ad-container hidden-xs offset\" style=\"height: 680px !important;width: 300px !important;\">\n    <div class=\"ad-label\"><\/div>\n\t<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-dt_btf_inarticle1-1\" class=\"DFPAdSlot\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>Clooney first met Amal Clooney (formerly Alamuddin) at Lake Como in Italy back in 2013. He told the <em>Times<\/em> that his agent, Bryan Lourd, had met the international human rights lawyer before Clooney did and remarked, \"You\u2019re going to marry her.\" Clooney dismissed the idea\u2014until he saw her.<\/p>\n<p>\"I was like, \u2018Oh my God!\u2019\" the <em>Oceans Eleven<\/em> actor said. \"Then I thought I wouldn\u2019t have much of a chance with her because I was 17 years older and she seemed to have everything she needed.\"<\/p>\n<p>They had a swift romance and got married in Venice, Italy, in September 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The pair welcomed twins, Alexander and Ella, in 2017. Clooney confessed that he was initially scared about becoming a father to two children.<\/p>\n<p>\"We went to that appointment at 12 weeks where they say, there\u2019s the kid. [To] look at the picture of the kid,\" Clooney recalled during an appearance on <em>The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em> in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\"And [the doctor] says, \u2018It\u2019s a boy.\u2019 Then he says, \u2018And a girl.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018What?\u2019\" Clooney continued. \"It felt overwhelming. I was like, \u2018Are you kidding me?\u2019\"<\/p>\n<p>\"Now, it\u2019s the best thing in the world,\" he added. \"But I was really scared at first.\"<\/p>\n<p>When Barrymore asked Clooney why he was so afraid, he was straightforward in his response. \"Well, I was 56 years old, he said.
