She said what?

People on social media are sounding off after a mother took to social media to claim that childfree people have all the time in the world.

Clearly thinking the other grass is greener, Danielle Ekwerekwu (@danni_ek) shared her controversial thoughts in a now viral video: “I don’t think people without kids realize how much free time they actually have. They are practically on vacation 24/7. And you don’t realize that until you have kids and you have no free time ever.”

She said she loves her kids but rarely gets any free time, a sentiment many parents could probably relate to.

In her video, which has garnered over 600,000 views, Ekwerekwu was self-aware enough to acknowledge she signed up for this when choosing parenthood, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that she might be slightly jealous of her peers who don’t have little humans to take care of and worry about every waking minute.

“I have friends who don’t have kids and I just get a kick out of hearing them say, ‘Oh I’m so tired or I’m so busy’…at the end of the day, everyone has problems, everyone has issues, everyone has a to-do list… but I’m just saying, if you’re watching this and you don’t have kids, embrace the free time because once you do have kids, there will be little to no free time,” this frustrated mom said.

Well, that was enough to set off thousands of people in the comment section of Ekwerekwu’s video.

“This is giving ‘I regret my choice and I’m envious of those who are childfree,'” quipped a commenter.

“‘I don’t want to be that person’… proceeds to be that person,” another pointed out.

“This video proves you have free time,” a snarky commenter claimed.

“Yes, our free time is different. It’s why a lot of us don’t want kids. But to say we’re ‘practically on vacation 24/7’ is a little absurd,” chimed in someone else.

It might not be a vacation childfree people are on, but it’s definitely a life they’re actively choosing, according to a new report.

A team of researchers from Michigan State University discovered that the number of people in the US deliberately choosing not to have children has doubled over the last two decades.

According to the team’s findings, the percentage of non-parents who don’t want to bring children into this world rose from 14% in 2002 to 29% in 2023.

There’s a robot for that.

What a time to be alive — people are marrying AI bots, and now robots might soon be able to carry babies.

Reportedly, China is working on designing a bot with an artificial womb — which will receive nutrients through a hose in its abdomen — that will soon be able to carry a fetus for about 10 months before giving birth, according to Chosun Biz.

The “pregnancy robot” was conceptualized by Dr. Zhang Qifeng, founder of Kaiwa Technology in Guangzhou, China. If all goes according to plan, the prototype will make its debut next year.

For those struggling to conceive, hiring a humanoid to carry their baby will cost 100,000 yuan, or about $14,000 — a price significantly less than a human surrogate, which can cost someone in the US anywhere from $100,000 to $200,000.

“The artificial womb technology is already in a mature stage, and now it needs to be implanted in the robot’s abdomen so that a real person and the robot can interact to achieve pregnancy, allowing the fetus to grow inside,” Qifeng told Chosun Biz.

Many questions are still unanswered at this time, including how the egg and sperm will be fertilized and inserted into the womb and how the bot will give birth.

Obviously, with this sort of technology comes a lot of questions and concerns regarding ethical and legal issues.

“We have held discussion forums with authorities in Guangdong Province and submitted related proposals while discussing policy and legislation,” the doctor said, addressing people’s uneasiness.

Speaking of freaky bots — a humanoid was spotted walking around Fifth Avenue in Midtown earlier this month, doing everything from grabbing a hot dog to trying on sneakers.

The intent behind this shocking scene of the KOID-branded bot acting like a human New Yorker was to promote global asset management firm KraneShares’s Global Humanoid and Embodied Intelligence Index ETF, which came out earlier this summer.

“I feel like I was witnessing firsthand . . . the first lightbulb or the first car,” said Joseph Dube, head of marketing at KraneShares. “People were amazed. Some people were terrified. It was a major mixed bag of reactions.”

If you’re single, you might want to steer clear of looking for a potential suitor in one of these US states that have been named as the places where the most cheating in relationships and marriages happens.

According to new research conducted by Instacams, an adult webcam site, there are supposedly 10 states where people are looking to cheat on their partners the most.

The research analyzed the number of searches for 80 different popular dating apps, such as Tinder, BLK and Ashley Madison — the controversial app married people use to have an affair — in the US throughout 2024 and then ranked the states with the highest number.

“This research goes to show that there is a widespread interest in having an affair among married people in the US, with almost one million searches for the platform every month,” said Aart Van Dijk, a spokesperson for Instacams.

Coming in at No. 1 is the chilly state of Colorado, with 424 dating app searches, primarily for Ashley Madison, which was the second most searched app here.

Rounding out the top three were North Dakota and New Hampshire. ND had 362 searches for just Ashley Madison per 100,000 residents.

New Hampshire wasn’t far behind, as this state saw 357 monthly searches for each 100,000 people for the married dating app.

Before you think the East Coast is in the clear — New York came in last, but still made it in the top 10, which isn’t anything to be proud of. The Big Apple saw 331 monthly searches.

And Connecticut also made the list, coming slightly ahead of NYC with 335 searches per month.

Here are the top 10 states where people are looking to cheat the most.

  1. Colorado (424 monthly searches)
  2. North Dakota (362)
  3. New Hampshire (357)
  4. Illinois (355)
  5. Nebraska (350)
  6. Montana (342)
  7. Washington (341)
  8. Massachusetts (339)
  9. Connecticut (335)
  10. New York (331)

“It is interesting to see which states are searching for Ashley Madison the most. The controversial app is made specifically for married people looking to have an affair, so its popularity may come as a surprise to some,” said Dijk.

“It is the third most popular dating app in the US overall, after Tinder and BLK.”

If you’re unsure whether your partner is cheating or not — here are some signs to keep an eye out for according to professional “honey trapper” Madeline Smith is the bait.

Hiding their phone is an obvious but big one. Other ones include: never posting any pictures of you, they use Snapchat, they won’t share their locations and they accuse you of cheating.

Lastly, pay attention to your intuition.

“Almost all of the messages I receive are from women saying that something just doesn’t feel right and, sadly, they’re usually right,” Smith said. “If in doubt, call him out – or engage the services of someone like me!”
